The loss of a family member, friend, or even a pet weighs heavily on our hearts as we look back at precious moments we shared with our loved ones. Those precious memories can also bring joy to our hearts and peace to our souls as we reflect on those moments, and look forward to a day when once again we will be reunited.

God has impressed upon my heart to offer a small token of comfort to those of us who have faced or are currently facing this difficult experience that we all share at one time or another. At one time or another in our lives, most of us have looked upon clouds dancing across the sky. We have then often pointed the cloud out to the person next to us and said, "doesn't that cloud look like a ______". Then there's those of us who anxiously anticipate the soon return of our Savior, and look expectantly for Jesus to appear within a magnificent cloud filled sky. Either way, clouds crossing the expanse of the skies are just as breathtaking as anything else that our creator has blessed us with.

You’ve heard the phrase “Stop, and smell the roses”. That’s all good, but more than likely, you were drawn to the rose by its beauty first. So I’d like to add “Stop, and gaze upon the rose”, or the orchid, or a wild flower, or whatever flower catches your eye. These are truly some of God’s most marvelous creations.

The variety and spectacle of the creatures that fill this planet is astounding. From the creatures that inhabit the depths of the ocean, to the enormous collection of insects that roam the earth and the sky's, it is a testament to the creativity and incredible imagination of our Maker.

He sends the snow in all its lovely whiteness, and scatters the frost upon the ground (Psalms 147:16). I know there are many who view snow as simply a nuisance. No doubt, if I lived in an area prone to snowfall, I'm sure there would be days that I would grow weary of all the shoveling and crawling along the icy interstate. For most of us though, there's something very special about waking up in the morning, looking out the front window, and discovering the lovely whiteness stretched out as far as the eye can see. The Word of God uses the term snow as a symbol of purity as in Isaiah 1:18 "...no matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow." All to say, God in His incredibly creative fashion, blessed us with the unparalleled natural beauty of snow.

Of all the beauty that is contained within the earth, none inspires me more than that of the rising and setting of the sun. I've seen numerous imitations created with all sorts of canvas and paints, and as lovely as these can be, none can compare to the exquisite displays stretched across the sky by our Creator.

Lift your eyes up to the majestic mountains, or look across the meadow as the breeze strokes the tops of the grasses. Any moment a deer may meander gently through with hopes of enjoying an undisturbed meal. A popular worship song says it so perfectly “waves of mercy, waves of grace, everywhere I look I see your face”.
